Fostering Continuous Learning

October 14, 2009

The Integrated Learning Model fosters successful transition to college and continuous learning by integrating three focused learning environments: Critical Learning, Facilitated Learning and Independent Learning.

Our Integrated Learning Model supports students destined for college by providing an environment which fosters mastery of the skills, habits and attitudes required for successful post-secondary studies:

  • critical thinking
  • strong communication skills
  • time-management
  • essay writing
  • presentation skills
  • group work
Knowledge is transmitted so that students are able to acquire, practice and master the concepts presented. Students cultivate knowledge through meaningful interaction with the material, which results in deep-level processing and long-term retention.  Instruction is based on individual student needs, and cultivates a “ready, willing and able” attitude. In the Integrated Learning Model, a successful transition to college is always in the foreground.

For more information on the Integrated Learning Model, please contact any Grade Expectations Learning Centres location or our head office.
