Integrated Learning Model

June 1, 2009

Grade Expectations Learning Centres’ “Integrated Learning Model” is our service  delivery model for students who need training to re-enter the labour market or prepare for post secondary education.

The “Integrated Learning Model” is designed to successfully return more people to work and offer high value and reduced costs to our clients.

In the “Integrated Learning Model”, students’ needs drive instructional decisions. It fosters successful return to work and continuous learning by integrating three focused learning environments: Critical Learning, Facilitated Learning and Independent Learning. Critical Learning provides individualized attention to address students’ needs. In Facilitated Learning, the teacher acts as “guide on the side” while students practice applying skills in groups.  Independent Learning cultivates confidence and provides students with opportunities to demonstrate mastery in a structured independent environment.

Continuous intake is an important feature in this model so that students can begin working towards their goals. Program lengths are 6 or 4 hours, designed to more closely emulate a work day.  Graduated hours are still available to facilitate students who may have barriers that prevent them from participating in a full day.  The design of the program will deliver a minimum 25% cost savings for most programs and  services
